Obstetrics is a field that deals with the area of childbirth and related issues, and it is one of the critical medical fields in India.
OB is the commonly used abbreviation for obstetrics is the doctor who gives birth to the child and deals with diseases related to the female reproductive organs. Obstetrics is a doctor specialized in the management of the female reproductive system, including the uterus, ovaries, cervix, vagina, uterus, and other female organs, as well as the reproductive system. Gynecologist (GYN) is another doctor specialized in the treatment of diseases of female sexual organs such as uterine cancer, and breast cancer.
An obstetrician also looks after birth and deals with pregnancy, childbirth, birth control, sexually transmitted disease, and other related problems.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of two surgical medical specialties dedicated to the care and treatment of women’s reproductive health and diseases in India. What this specialization has in common is that it provides training in obstetrics – gynecologists obstetricians and gynecologists, and other specialties. They are often combined into a single medical specialty, such as gynecomastia, gynecology, gynecology, and a combination of both.
About the course :
Admission is based on a candidate’s performance in the entry test and merit. As a minimum criterion for admission to these courses, candidates must have attained an MBBS. Degree with a total of at least 50%. And candidates must have completed an MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India.
This course is career-oriented, and of 2-years duration, and the average monthly salary is offered as such to doctoral students. It depends on the candidate’s skills & expertise and the level of education and training available in this area.
After completing your training, you can also complete part-time and specialized training programmed as well as scholarships. In India, there is postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology in the form of residencies, scholarship programs, and training.
Those who are enthusiastic about medical education can progress through the ranks to become doctors, a position befitting those who achieve academic excellence. Some of them may later pursue a postdoctoral degree in obstetrics and gynecology or even a medical degree.
