American philanthropist John Hopkins founded John Hopkin University or JHU. Home to more than 18 medical Nobel laureates The Maryland-based university has made its name one of the world’s top research organizations. Hopkins has received billions of dollars in donations from the United States government. The university is affiliated with many hospitals, including the John Hopkins hospital. JHU was one of the initial universities to accept women for its medical courses and protect their rights. Hopkins is considered to be a “model for American education.”
